Rescue Packer

Rescue Packing Provider  are Advanced Pilots or Instructors with higher rating, who have  completed the Specialty Rescue Packing Course and are able to recognize, control, pack and install all different models of rescue and in any  paragliding harness, following APPI Security International Rules. Advanced Pilots can pack only their own rescues, while instructors can  pack the rescues from anyone.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To be certified as a Rescue Packing Specialist, an individual must :

  1. Be a certified Advanced Pilot, or with another paragliding training organization.
  2. Complete a 2 days Practical and Theoretical Course and have a minimum  10 packing and installations with an APPI Instructor Examiner.

Training and Certification

Upon completion of the Specialty Instructor Training, the pilot  submits to the appropriate APPI office a completed application validated by the APPI Instructor who conducted the training, along with a photo  and application fee. Upon approval of the application, APPI will issue a Rescue Packing Specialty certification card.

Renewal

Rescue Packing Specialist ratings do not require separate renewal –  they are renewed when the member renew their membership annually.

Open Sky Tandem Pilot

The APPI Open Sky Tandem Pilot rating is the first step to become an APPI Professional member.  During their training, candidates review APPI Standards, procedures and  general related issues. As well, candidates review their practical  flying ability, general procedures and paragliding knowledge. Open Sky  Tandem Pilots are allowed to fly ONLY with other certified pilots.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in an OSTP Program, an individual must:

  1. Be certified as an Advanced Pilot, with APPI or another recreational paragliding training organization, for at least one year.
  2. Present APPI SIV Certification, within the past 6 months.
  3. Be at least 18 years old.
  4. Have a good medical statement, in the form and state that as a candidate is fit for paragliding as a profession.
  5. Completed five days Tandem Basic Course, including minimum 10 flights with the APPI Tandem Instructor Examiner.
  6. Submit proof of First Aid training (Red Cross or other rescue organization equivalence).
  7. Submit documentation of any qualifying certifications for entry level,  advanced, rescue and leadership level issued by another recreational  paragliding training organization.

Training and Certification

Open Sky Tandem Pilots candidates must satisfactorily complete all  course performance requirements. . To apply for certification, the  certifying APPI Instructor submit online a completed, validated Open Sky Tandem Pilot Application to APPI website, along with the required  photo, application fee and other qualifying certification documentation  (if applicable). Upon approval of the application, APPI will issue an  APPI Certification Card.

Note: Open Sky Tandem Pilot Course has 2 years validity, for  candidates who want to enroll in an APPI Tandem Pilot Course and  validate Certification. If certification expired, the course must be  repeated (safety rules and APPI quality standards).

Renewal

To renew annually, an Open Sky Tandem Pilot submits a Membership  Agreement with payment of membership dues. Pilots who have let their  memberships lapse will need to fulfill additional requirements  designated by the APPI Training and Quality Management Department before regaining on status.

V.S.1

APPI Tandem Pilot

The APPI Tandem Pilot  Course is the final goal to become a professional Tandem Pilot. During  the course candidates review APPI Standards, procedures, philosophies  and methods. After successfully completing an APPI Instructor  Examination (IE), tandem pilots can carry any passenger of any age  without aeronautical knowledge, and to do commercial flights, having  responsibility for introducing people to paragliding through Discover  Paragliding and various APPI programs. APPI Tandem Pilots can apply for  forward specialties going more Pro as : Advanced Tandem Pilot, rescue  packing provider and group leader .

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in an APPI Tandem Pilot an individual must:

  1. Be certified as an APPI Open Sky Tandem Pilot  within the past two years or hold a certification with another  recreational paragliding training organization.
  2. Be at least 18 years old.
  3. Be in a good medical statement, in the form and state that as a candidate is fit for paragliding as a profession.
  4. Have been a certified Open Sky Tandem Pilot for at least one year and  have completed and logged at least 80 tandem flights reports. Or prior  option, have logged 50 flights under an APPI Instructor’s supervision,  with no time limit.
  5. Have completed and logged Tandem flights in at least five different sites.
  6. Have completed and logged Tandem flights with at least ten different certified pilots (Insurance Rule).
  7. Be approved on theoretical and Practical Tandem Exams.
  8. Submit documentation of first aid training (Red Cross or other rescue organization equivalence).
  9. Submit documentation of any qualifying certifications for entry level,  advanced, rescue and leadership level issued by another recreational  paragliding training organization.
  10. If not an APPI Open Sky Tandem Pilot, successfully complete the APPI OSTP equivalence.

Group leader

Group Leader are APPI  Tandem Pilots who want to continue his formation and APPI Education and  have skill to guide groups of pilots. Group Leaders help with all  facilities and organization, being in charge to take care of paragliding groups, travels and expeditions. But are not authorized to use radio  guidance communication, or take responsibility for pilots during the  flights.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in an Group leader an individual must :

  2. Completed 2 day leader Assistance, with supervision of an APPI Sky Guide Instructor.
  3. Be approved on Practical and Audition Exams and validated by APPI Sky Guide Instructor

Training and Certification

APPI Group Leader has two phases – a training phase and an evaluation phase. Instructor candidates who have successfully completed the 

training Program can be validated. The validation must be done by one  APPI Sky guide Instructor to validate the certification. Group Leader candidates must satisfactorily complete  all course requirements to be certified as APPI Group Leader Tandem  Pilot.
To apply for equivalence certification, all document have to be  submit online , Application to APPI website, along with the required  photo, application , and other qualifying certification documentation  (if applicable). Upon approval of the application, APPI will issue an  APPI Group Leader card.

Advanced Tandem Pilot

APPI Advanced Tandem  Pilot is a Tandem Pilot having special skills in Tandem SIV and Tandem  Cross Country. Advanced Tandem Pilots are Tandem Pilots in best  qualification in the way to become APPI Instructors and Tandem Pilot  Instructors.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in an APPI Adventure Tandem Pilot an individual must :

  2. Have completed an APPI SIV Tandem Course within the past six months.
  3. Have completed and logged at least one cross country tandem flight of minimum 35km, having a certified pilot as a passenger.
  4. Submit documentation of any other qualifying certifications.
  5. If not an APPI Tandem Pilot, successfully complete the APPI Tandem Pilot equivalence.

Training and Certification

Adventure Tandem Pilots candidates must satisfactorily complete all  course performance requirements to be certified as APPI Adventure Tandem Pilots.

APPI Adventure Tandem Pilots.
To apply for certification, the certifying APPI Tandem Instructor  submit online a completed, validated Adventure Tandem Pilot Application  to APPI website, along with the required photo, application fee and  other qualifying certification documentation (if applicable).
Upon approval of the application, APPI will issue an APPI Adventure Tandem Pilot Certification Card.

Renewal

Fly Guide

APPI Guides are APPI  Group Leaders responsible for paragliding groups, during their travels  and expeditions. APPI Guides are authorized to use radio guidance  communication, or take responsibility for pilots during the flights in  some specific flying sites. APPI guides are assistant instructor or  instructor candidates, during formations.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in an Fly Guide an individual must :

Sky Guide

APPI Sky Guide is top  ranting APPI Guide, with bivouac attitude, and Instructor who have  demonstrated a thorough experience in guiding paragliding groups. APPI  Sky Guides are allowed to use radio guidance and to guide group of  pilots of any level at any flying site, having 2 pilots or students in  radio guidance at the same time.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll as a Sky Guide an individual must :

  3. Have guided and logged at least 10 groups, in the past 2 years.

  6. Be approved on Practical and Audition Exams. Which means to guide one group, under one Sky Guide Instructor supervision.

First aid rescue instructor

Any diploma certified by the Red Cross or equivalent, capable of delivering a first aid certificate.

Assistant Instructor

The Assistant Instructor rating is the first step to become an APPI Professional Instructor.  Assistant Instructors provide student pilots with quality knowledge and skill development during APPI programs and courses, in supervision of a Certified APPI Master Instructor.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in an APPI Assistant Instructor course, an individual must:

  2. Be at least 18 years old.
  3. Be in a good medical statement, in the form and state that as a candidate is fit for paragliding as a profession.
  4. Completed and logged at least 50 hours/ 100 professional tandem flights.
  5. Completed five days theoretical, pedagogic and practical course under a Master Instructor supervision.

  7. Submit documentation of any qualifying certifications issued by another recreational paragliding training organization.
  8. If not an APPI Tandem pilot, successfully complete the APPI Tandem Pilot course equivalence.

Training and Certification

Assistant instructor candidates must satisfactorily complete all  course performance on pedagogy requirements to be certified as APPI  Assistant Instructors. To apply for certification, the certifying APPI  Instructor submit online a completed, validated Assistant Instructor  Application to APPI website, along with the required photo, application  fee, and other qualifying certification documentation (if applicable).  Upon approval of the application, APPI will issue an APPI Assistant  Instructor card.

Duties

Renewed APPI Assistant Instructor Pilots who are in Active status are authorized to:

  1. Accompany student pilots during their training, under the indirect supervision of an APPI Instructor.
  2. Conduct the ground handling skills segment of the APPI Open Sky and Adventure Pilot courses.
  3. Conduct the APPI Discover Paragliding program.
  4. Conduct the APPI Paragliding Review program for certified pilots, or for APPI Pilots who want only to refresh their skills.

Renewal

APPI Instructor

Instructor Formation Course

APPI Instructor denotes  an individual who has exemplary paragliding skills and role model  behavior, solid rescue skills, professional level knowledge of  paragliding theory, management and supervision abilities, and  competence as a certified instructor. APPI Instructors are paragliding  instructors from other paragliding training organizations or schools, as well, who successfully completed equivalence in skills.  Instructors may conduct a large range of APPI courses and programs :from Open Sky to APPI Solo Pilot, Advanced Courses, Rescue or Specialty  courses, when qualified. Instructors may become APPI Specialty  Instructors and APPI Master Instructors.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

3.Completed minimum 60 days training course in at least three different  schools, 20 days in each school. Composed of 15 days assistance from  Open Sky to APPI Solo Pilot, and 5 days activity chosen by the  instructor.

4.Be approved on theoretical, Practical and Audition Exams. Practical: to  give one day course to real students, having two Instructors as a jury;  Theoretical: To give one day course, having two Instructors as a jury  and to expose knowledge and experience over one subject, by the jury.  Audition: to explain motivation and to critic the presentation course.

5.Present logbook documented and signed by 3 instructors, from minimum 2 different schools.

6.Submit documentation of first aid training (Red Cross or other rescue organization equivalence).

7.Be certified as an APPI Rescue Pilot Provider or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

8.Submit documentation of any qualifying certifications by another recreational paragliding training organization.

9.If not a APPI Assistant Instructor, successfully complete the APPI Assistant Instructor course rescue assessment.

Duties

Renewed APPI Instructor Pilots who are in Active status are authorized to :

  1. Supervise both training and non-training related activities by planning, organizing and flights supervision.
  2. Assist APPI Master Instructors during formations and courses for any APPI certification.
  3. Independently teach APPI Paragliding courses students for: Open Sky, Adventure and APPI Solo Pilot
  4. Teach Advanced Pilot course together with another APPI instructor (requirement for validation).
  5. Accompany Specialty students, when qualified.

Renewal

To renew annually, an APPI Instructor submits online a Membership  Agreement with payment of membership dues. Tandem Instructor

APPI Tandem Flight  Instructors are Advanced Tandem Pilots who have demonstrated large  experience in tandem flights skills and are able to teach Tandem Pilot  formation courses, able to assist and conduct tandem pilots students in  flight performance and training.

To be certified as a Tandem instructor, an individual must :

SIV instructor

APPI SIV Specialist are  Instructors and experienced pilots educators who have demonstrated a  thorough experience in APPI System of Paragliding Education, conducting  large range of programs and courses. The teaching status SIV Specialist  Instructor is able to give from security of flying, SIV courses,  collapses and maneuvers with paragliding and simulation of accidents  training from APPI Solo Pilots to Advanced Pilots.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

    Note: This Certification might be simultaneous to the formation.
  7. Submit documentation of any qualifying certifications by another paragliding training organization.
  8. If not an APPI Instructor, successfully complete the APPI Instructor course equivalence.

Acro trainer

APPI ACRO Specialist are SIV Specialist Instructors with increasing techniques on acrobatic fly. The teaching status SIV Specialist Instructor is able to give from SIV  courses to acrobatic training courses, to all level of pilots and  higher rating Instructors.

D-bag trainer

APPI D-BAG Specialist  are Instructors with increasing techniques on acrobatic fly, teaching  deployment and glide opening over the water from a tandem flight. The  D-Bag Specialist Instructor is able to give courses ONLY for Advanced  Pilots or higher rating Instructors. The objective of this course is to teach how to pack and have a free process in security. Useful for  public shows and presentations.

To enroll in a D-bag trainer course an individual must :

XC instructor

Cross Country Specialist are APPI Instructors and experienced pilots educators who have best  skills in cross country performance, able to conduct a range of APPI  programs and courses from basic to advanced levels. Cross Country  Specialist Instructor are expert in expeditions, thermals and flying  techniques in long distance flights.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

  1. Be certified as an Instructor for at least one year, with APPI or with another paragliding training organization.
  2. Completed minimum 25 APPI Solo Pilot formations.
  3. Present Cross Country Certification, minimum 2 cross country 25 km and  listing of challenge (see cross country instructor’s form).
  4. Be  approved on Practical and Audition Exams. Which means to give one full  Cross Country course to real students, under one Master Instructor  supervision.
  5. Submit documentation of any qualifying certifications by another paragliding training organization.
  6. If not an APPI Instructor, successfully complete an APPI Instructor course equivalence.

Training and Certification

The exams must have minimum one Master Instructor and one Instructor  to validate the certification. Instructor candidates must satisfactorily complete all course performance requirements to be certified as APPI  Cross Country Specialist Instructors.
To apply for certification, the certifying Master Instructor submit  on line a completed, validated Instructor Application to APPI website,  along with the required photo, application fee, and other qualifying  certification documentation (if applicable). Upon approval of the  application, APPI will issue an APPI Cross Country Instructor card.

Renewal

Specialty Instructor ratings do not require separate renewal – they  are renewed when APPI Instructors renew their membership annually.

Perfo. trainer

APPI Performance  Specialist are Cross Country Instructors who have demonstrated large  experience in competitions, combining flight performance, training  skills, distance, speed and safety. Able to assist and conduct pilots  students in flight performance and training for competition.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in a Perfo. trainer course, an individual must :

  3. Completed minimum 3 to 5 days course, progression and procedures.
  4. Completed minimum one flight more than 50 km.

  6. Be approved on Practical and Audition Exams. Which means to give one  full Performance course to real students, under one Master Instructor  supervision

APPI Instructor

Instructor Formation Course

APPI Instructor denotes  an individual who has exemplary paragliding skills and role model  behavior, solid rescue skills, professional level knowledge of  paragliding theory, management and supervision abilities, and  competence as a certified instructor. APPI Instructors are paragliding  instructors from other paragliding training organizations or schools, as well, who successfully completed equivalence in skills.  Instructors may conduct a large range of APPI courses and programs :from Open Sky to APPI Solo Pilot, Advanced Courses, Rescue or Specialty  courses, when qualified. Instructors may become APPI Specialty  Instructors and APPI Master Instructors.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

1.Be certified as an APPI Assistant Instructor for minimum one year, or with another paragliding training organization.

2.Be in good medical statement, in the form and state that as a candidate is fit for paragliding as a profession.

3.Completed minimum 60 days training course in at least three different  schools, 20 days in each school. Composed of 15 days assistance from  Open Sky to APPI Solo Pilot, and 5 days activity chosen by the  instructor.

4. Be approved on theoretical, Practical and Audition  Exams. Practical: to give one day course

to real students, having two  Instructors as a jury; Theoretical: To give one day course, having two  Instructors as a jury and to expose knowledge and experience over one  subject, by the jury. Audition: to explain motivation and to critic the  presentation course.

  1. Present logbook documented and signed by 3 instructors, from minimum 2 different schools.
  2. Submit documentation of first aid training (Red Cross or other rescue organization equivalence).
  3. Be certified as an APPI Rescue Pilot Provider or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.
  4. Submit documentation of any qualifying certifications by another recreational paragliding training organization.
  5. If not a APPI Assistant Instructor, successfully complete the APPI Assistant Instructor course rescue assessment.

Training and Certification

APPI Instructor Development has two phases – a training phase and an  evaluation phase. Instructor candidates who have successfully completed  the training Program ONLY may enroll in the theoretical exams. The exams must have minimum one Master Instructor and one Instructor to validate  the certification. Instructor candidates must satisfactorily complete  all course performance requirements to be certified as APPI Instructors. To apply for certification, the certifying Course Director submit online a completed, signed Instructor Application to APPI website, along with  the required photo, application fee, and other qualifying certification  documentation (if applicable). Upon approval of the application, APPI  will issue an APPI Instructor Card.

Duties

Renewed APPI Instructor Pilots who are in Active status are authorized to :

  1. Supervise both training and non-training related activities by planning, organizing and flights supervision.
  2. Assist APPI Master Instructors during formations and courses for any APPI certification.
  3. Independently teach APPI Paragliding courses students for: Open Sky, Adventure and APPI Solo Pilot
  4. Teach Advanced Pilot course together with another APPI instructor (requirement for validation).
  5. Accompany Specialty students, when qualified.

Renewal

To renew annually, an APPI Instructor submits online a Membership  Agreement with payment of membership dues. Instructors who have let  their memberships lapse will need to fulfill additional requirements  designated by the APPI Training and Quality Management Department before regaining Teaching status.

Master Instructor

APPI Master Instructors  are experienced pilots educators who have achieved the highest APPI  Instructor ratings. Master Instructors have demonstrated a thorough  understanding of the APPI System of Paragliding Education and have  experience conducting the large range of programs and courses.
Master Instructors are members which influences changes to programs  and standards. APPI Master Instructor have to follow APPI Education  System and are representative of APPI in one country.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To apply for the Master Instructor rating, an instructor must :

  1. Have been an APPI Instructor for at least two years.
  2. Be certified as an APPI Specialty Instructor, with one or more specialty ratings.
  3. Have issued at least 5 APPI Instructor certifications.
  4. Have certified at least 100 students as APPI Pilots. At least 80 of the certifications must be for APPI Solo Pilot, with at least 20 of the  certifications for APPI Specialty Pilot,.
  5. Completed five Instructor Course Assistance, by supervision of an APPI Master Instructor.
  6. Use the complete APPI System of Paragliding Education including all  appropriate APPI training materials when conducting APPI programs.
  7. Issue APPI as the primary certification, and conduct all APPI  certification courses and experience programs using methods consistent  with APPI Standards and philosophy as outlined in the APPI Instructor  Manual.
  8. Have no verified Quality Assurance violations within  the past six months and no open quality assurance inquiries in progress. (A member in Review status may not qualify for Master Instructor until  the Review status is lifted.)

Certification

The Master Instructor candidate must have minimum three Instructors  or one Instructor and one Master Instructor to validate the  certification. Master Instructor candidates must satisfactorily  complete all course performance requirements to be certified as APPI  Master Instructors.

Renewal

To renew annually, an APPI Master Instructor submits online to APPI  website a Membership Agreement with payment of membership dues.

*Note: APPIMaster Instructors retain their rating by being APPI  members in best standing. This rating may be rescinded or suspended if  found in violation of APPI Standards during a Quality Assurance inquiry.

     Open sky pilot

Open Sky Pilot is the first degree in APPI Education System. The student learns how to install and control the wing on the ground (ground  skimming) and have his first solo flight experience. At this level, the  student is allowed to fly ONLY with radio communication and under  instructor’s supervision.

To enroll in a APPI Open Sky Pilot course, an individual must :

 1.    Have minimum age 14 years old, with authorization of legal  representative, and according to local rules (Federation/ Civil  Aviation/ Army, etc).

 2     Minimum 5 days course with a certified instructor. Including: 3 days minimum of ground handling

 3.    Completed theoretical course on Basic Paragliding Knowledge (five chapters)

 4.    Completed the practical, analyze, technique and mental preparation stage 1

Adventure Pilot

Adventure Pilot is a paragliding student capable to fly from the take  off to the landing zone in stable weather conditions, in altitude  gliding. But still allowed to fly ONLY with radio communication and  under instructor supervision.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

1.Be certified as an APPI Open Sky pilot or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

2.Minimum age 14 years old with authorization of legal representative, and according to local rules (Federation/ Civil Aviation/ Army, etc).

APPI Pilot

APPI Solo Pilot is the student who achieved the level to become an independent pilot, capable  to fly without supervision and to analyze different weather conditions,  having skills in alpine, soaring and/ or flat land.  Before to fly in different sites, APPI Solo Pilots are recommended to  choose places where they can have Assistance of an APPI School, where  they receive important information, support and have more security. As a benefit of being an APPI member, any APPI Solo Pilot can get one day  FREE Assistance in any APPI School worldwide.

Prerequisites/ course contents/ obligation

1.Be certified as an APPI Adventure pilot or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

2.Minimum age 16 years old (with authorization of legal representative),  and according to local rules (Federation/ Civil Aviation/ Army, etc).

3.Complete 15 days course (including APPI Open Sky and Adventure Course)  with registered instructor (logbook), including 25 flights done.

4.Complete the theoretical course, practical, analyze, technique and  mental preparation stage 3, including knowledge Development II (5  chapters).

Training Update

ALPINE

APPI Solo Pilot with ALPINE validation means the pilot has completed his formation course in one area of mountain valley wind and thermals, and  have skills PTU landing (aviation standard). Validation: minimum one  day under instructor supervision on fly, analyze condition, landscape,  etc.

SOARING

APPI Solo Pilot with SOARING validation means the pilot has completed  his formation course in one area of meteo wind, venture, top landing,  etc. Validation: minimum one day under instructor supervision, fly with  meteo wind and top landing.

FLAT LAND

APPI Solo Pilot with FLAT LAND validation means the pilot has completed  his formation course using winch system for take off. Validation:  minimum one day under instructor supervision, fly and safety winch take  off.

Certification

APPI Solo Pilots candidates must satisfactorily complete all course  performance requirements. To apply for certification, the certifying  APPI Instructor submit online a completed, validated APPI Solo Pilot  Application to APPI website, along with the required photo, application  fee and other qualifying certification documentation (if applicable). Upon approval of the application and validation, APPI will issue an APPI Solo Pilot Certification Card.

To enroll in a APPI Advanced Pilot course, an individual must

1.Be certified as a APPI Solo Pilot, with both Alpine and soaring  validation. Or have a qualifying certification from another training  organization (see equivalence standard).:

  3. Completed 3 to 5 days progression course, with the instructor’s supervision. Complete the Cross Country progressive form
  4. Completed minimum one cross country flight with at least 30 km.
  5. If not an APPI Pilot, successfully complete an APPI course equivalence.
  6. Respect APPI Safety Rule and Quality Standard to follow the instructions.

Training and Certification

APPI Cross Country Pilots Certification, must be validated by an APPI Cross Country instructor. APPI Pilots candidates must satisfactorily  complete all course performance requirements. .

SIV Pilot

SIV (Simulation  d’Incident en VOL) Pilots course is designed for solo pilots on the way  to became advanced pilots, having skills for action and surprises in  the sky, safety from turbulence, collapses, throwing rescue, etc. And  for advanced pilots who wants to update and refresh their skills and  safety. The pilot practices how to collapse and control the wing in  stages, over the water, and safe general emergency procedures. During  the SIV course, the pilot develops the basic techniques which are also  pre-requisites for acrobatic fly and acro specialties.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in a SIV Pilot course, an individual must:

  1. Be a certified APPI Solo Pilot. Or have a  qualifying certification from another training organization (see  equivalence standard).
  2. Completed minimum 3 days course on practical, preparation, technical and safety, by supervision of an APPI SIV Instructor.
  3. Completed minimum 8 to 10 flights/ training sessions, with radio supervision.

Acro Pilot

APPI Acro Pilots are  APPI pilots and SIV Pilots with the intent to learn and to progress in  special techniques in acrobatic fly. During the course, the pilot learns many maneuvers and have acro training and practice in security, over  the water, in fundamental progression and safety conditions.

To enroll in an Acro Pilot course, an individual must :

  1. Be a certified APPI SIV Pilot.
  2. Present APPI SIV Certification, within the past 6 months.
  3. Completed minimum 3 days course on practical, preparation, technical and safety, under supervision of an APPI Acro Instructor.
  4. Completed minimum 8 to 10 flights/ training sessions, with radio supervision.
  5. Respect APPI Safety Rule and Quality Standard to follow the instructions.
  6. If not an APPI SIV Pilot, successfully complete the APPI SIV pilot’s equivalence.

D-bag Pilot

APPI D-BAG Pilots are  SIV pilots who intent to learn and practice deployment technique in  security process. The pilot learns the deployment over the water, during a tandem flight, and open his glider in the air. The objective of this  course is to learn how to have deployment process in security, students  learn how do it in safety conditions.

Prerequisites/ Course contents/ Obligation

To enroll in an APPI D-BAG Pilot course, an individual must:

  1. Be a certified APPI SIV Pilot.
  2. Completed 3 days APPI D-BAG Course, within maximum 6 months.
  3. Completed 2 days course on practical, preparation, technical and safety, under supervision of an APPI D-BAG Instructor.
  4. Completed minimum 4 deployments, under supervision.
  5. Respect APPI Safety Rule and Quality Standard to follow the instructions.

Training and Certification

APPI D-Bag Pilots Certification, must be validated by an APPI D-BAG  instructor. APPI SIV Pilots candidates must satisfactorily complete all  course performance requirements.
